Can I get internet on my PS2 by hooking it up to my laptop?

If I hook up an Ethernet cable from my Playstation2 (the thick one) to my laptop (which has wireless internet on it), will I be able to play online?

Sure. on the laptop go to 'my network connections' and bridge the lan (wired connection) to the wireless connection. now the laptop will act as a hub for the PS2.
